Fitbit has published peer reviewed articles showing their health trackers and smartwatches can be used to help detect early onset of flu and COVID-19 even before symptoms start. We believe the data provided by Fitbit wearables can also be used as a window into the COVID recovery progress.

Recovering from COVID-19 can be a challenging process, often manifesting as extreme fatigue, sleep dysfunction, and a range of disabling symptoms. A study of almost 250,000 participants recovering from a COVID infection found that one third of them suffered measurable neurological and psychiatric consequences.

One recurring theme in COVID infections and recovery is low levels of oxygen in the blood. Low oxygen levels are associated with increased reports of anxiety, depression, and brain fog – the same brain disorders seen during COVID recovery.

This COVID-19 recovery study will use Fitbit devices as a way to monitor the recovery markers related to the flu/COVID so that you know you are heading towards recovery and wellness.

Fitbit allows us to get key health metrics from your personal wearable like temperature logging which has show to be a useful marker for COVID recovery. Unlike onsite temperature checks or screenings, Fitbit provides a continuous, more complete picture of an individual’s health.

The Daily Check-In feature highlights changes in your resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep and breathing rate alongside self-reported symptoms and temperature. Based on these factors we can get a better understanding of the recovery process and determine if consuming Kure Oxygen water is having a positive impact.

Each participant will be asked to complete a health questionnaire to see how you are feeling before the study begins, during the study, and a couple of weeks after the study ends. You will also be asked to do simple breath holding measurements that are easily done from the comfort of your home. We will also by monitor your sleep quality to determine any sleep dysfunction.
