Can anyone start a study?
Absolutely! You do not need to be a university professor to start a study, every one has a citizen scientist within them to start a study. All you need is a sense of curiosity, a hypothesis and eagerness to find a solution to a problem and make the world better.
What is the required criteria to hae a study accepted?
Kure Starter encourages you to think of studies that will help push science forward while also being fun to do! Simply submit your study concept including Study Hypothesis, Goal, Participants Needed, (Any other Requirements) to our team for approval, once received our team will review for feasibility.
How are studies reviewed for approval?
A Kure Starter admin reviews each submitted study, if accepted we will schedule a video interview. Once approved you will be required to obtain 25% of the needed participants before we can showcase your study on the website to be voted on by your Kure Tribe. The study with the highest votes wins and gets launched!
What is the best way to find participants?
We recommend to start with your inner circle of friends and family, people who will support you and your interests. Next start new momentum with your social media contacts by placing posts promoting your study with options to learn more. Once you have seen which message about your study proposal is clearly understood, then its time to reach out to larger audiences through press and news outlets.
How do I become a featured study?
Every month we choose a study to be featured in our Kure Tribe newsletter and in the “Featured Study” segment of our website. We like to choose studies that allow for community collaboration or studies that have a goal that can bring global betterment.
How much time and effort does it take?
Submitting a study and getting it approved can take 1-2 weeks. After approval, it will take a concerted effort to enlist your participants. Once the study starts, you will need to keep participants updated and engaged. Most studies can take 30-60 days from inception to end results. This may seem like a lot but I can assure you, releasing your inner citizen scientist will be truly fulfilling and a lot of fun!
Do I have to make a video to promote a study?
Video’s are not a requirement, but we all enjoy videos and they are a great way to showcase the story behind your study. Studies that have videos showcasing the objective and methods in a fun and engaging way do the best.
How do I update participants on the study progress?
Study updates are submitted to the admin team via email by the study starter. We showcase these updates on the study detail page under the tab “Updates”. Then they are sent via email to the participants, helping everyone stay informed and engaged.
